CHILDREN’S VILLAGE CHILD CARE: STRIVING TO BE THE BEST FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES SINCE 1976 |
- In 1976 Children’s Village was one of the first PA licensed child care programs in Center City Philadelphia to respond to the needs of working parents.
- Nationally accredited since 1996, Children’s Village meets the professional gold standard of high quality early childhood education established by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, the accrediting body of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
- The school-age program, started in 2001, is in the process of seeking accreditation by the National School Age Care Alliance for after-school programs.
- Children’s Village is awarded the maximum four stars by Pennsylvania’s Keystone Star initiative, which employs an objective, statistically valid measurement of overall quality.
- Children receive a healthy, well-balanced breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack, prepared fresh daily in our own on-site kitchen. Children’s Village has met the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program nutritional regulations since 1976.
- Children’s Village provides Head Start services to eligible families during the extended child care day. Head Start services at Children’s Village are contracted through the Philadelphia Parent Child Center and the Philadelphia School District. Children’s Village is a founding member of Philadelphia Parent Child Center’s Head Start / Child Care Collaboration Project (established in 1998), one of the first in the country to integrate Head Start services and child care.
