Reasons to Support Children’s Village
|
|
|
|
At Children’s Village
we believe every child should have access to affordable, quality
early care and education. After all, research recognizes the
immense importance of high quality early care and education
and its link to school readiness, later school success and
ultimately, life success. |

|
|
Each gift supports the programs
and services of Children’s Village, helping to build
strong foundations in children of working families. Known
for its cultural diversity, Children’s Village offers
exceptional programs and services to families of young children
and school age children in the Chinatown community and surrounding
neighborhoods. |

How Your Gift Helps Children’s Village
|
|
|
| Quality early childhood education
has a profound and long term impact upon the lives of children
and the geographical areas in which they live. Societal benefits
created by children attending high quality early care and
education programs are documented by The High Scope Perry
Preschool Study which concludes that every dollar invested
in early care and education has a return of $17. Thus, children
who have had the benefit of high quality early education contribute
to society as productive members with higher earning potential
promoting the economic strength of the Philadelphia region. |
| |
|
- Maintain our gold standard of high quality
early childhood education.
Recognized locally, regionally and nationally for its
standards of excellence, Children’s Village has
been nationally accredited since 1996 by the National
Association for the Education of Young Children and has
been awarded the maximum four stars by Pennsylvania’s
Keystone Star initiative which measures quality.
- Hire the highest qualified staff and
help support their continued training in early childhood
development and school enrichment.
- Purchase needed materials including
books, paper, art supplies, toys and cots for napping.
- Offer year round out of school time
services to urban school children in grades K-3rd in a
community where such programs are lacking in availability.
- Provide daily nutritious snacks and
meals to approximately 300 children.
- Enrich its programs by bringing story-tellers,
artists and musicians to Children’s Village.
- Provide supportive services to children
with special needs and programs for parents including
English language instruction and translation services
for non-English speaking parents, and parent counseling
and workshops.

children.
