    In a Donor's Words

We’re honored to share donor Alexis Kennedy’s words.  Alexis contributed to Children’s Village through www.generocity.org:

While working out of Thomas Jefferson University, my position includes improving social emotional development in preschool children, decreasing challenging behaviors, while also providing parent education and support classes.  I not only know, but more importantly, can APPRECIATE the hard work that Children’s Village is doing! Children’s Village is really improving and giving hope back to the children and their families.—Alexis Kennedy. M.S.Ed.

THANK YOU Alexis and each of our donors.  We cannot do our work without you.

    Wonderful Wishes for 2012!

Take a look at our accomplishments in 2011—our 35th year!  In 2012, we’ll continue to work to make Children’s Village an even better place to foster development and learning.  Every child and their family deserve nothing less.

    In 2011, Children’s Village:

    • Expanded the number of Preschool Program classrooms from 8 to 11.   These new rooms double as classrooms for our School-Age Program, in which we now welcome children in grades k-6th.
    • Continued improving our Nutrition Program.  Adopting best-practice standards from the University of North Carolina, our new menu includes more seasonable fruits and vegetables and eliminates fried foods and items such as crackers, cookies and prepared foods.
    • Added a Family Partnership staff member fluent in Indonesian and English to respond to the needs of the growing number of Indonesian families at Children's Village.
    • Continued implementing our 3-year Technology Plan to effectively integrate technology as a teaching tool, develop leading edge classrooms, and create the infrastructure to improve how we operate.
    • Refreshed our look with a new logo and website.

Our wish is that you'll work with us in 2012 to ensure every young child has access to high-quality care and education.  Advocate.  Volunteer.  Donate.  In fact, it's not too late to support our Annual Appeal—and as always, your gift is tax-deductible.

    Thank you!
